Machine learning in parametric design

This year, we have been exploring a new area: applying machine learning (ML) to our parametric design data. In collaboration with our partner, we've conducted pilot projects using existing project data to create predictive models for new designs. The initial results are promising, suggesting significant potential for streamlining design processes, optimizing project outcomes, and reducing the risk of errors.
The approach could change how we tackle engineering challenges and help us deliver more effective solutions for our clients. We plan to further reinforce our team with a dedicated data scientist in the near future, as we see this field as an important part of the future design toolkit.
Project updates
Beyond our ML initiatives, we've also had a busy year delivering successful projects and forging new partnerships. We completed several key substation projects, including a large 400 kV greenfield substation project, and numerous telecom tower designs and calculations. We also adapted portal designs for more efficient on-site construction and made good progress on substation expansion projects.
3D/BIM modeling continues to be a core part of our design process, enhancing coordination, visualization, and efficiency. We also tackled foundation designs for various infrastructure projects and completed a design review for a major transmission line with positive client feedback.
Our telecom engineering business kept us busy. We also piloted on-site supervision for telecom projects and explored new design technologies.
We're engaged in negotiations for future transmission line and substation projects, ensuring a strong pipeline of opportunities.
